How we handle your data

The short version

Clip2Sheet is a Chrome extension that helps you turn screenshots of documents into Google Sheets in your own Google Drive. Your document content — the actual financial statements, invoices, and tables you extract — is never stored on our servers. We cannot see, access, or retrieve the documents you process, and we do not keep copies of them. The Sheets we create are yours, in your Drive, under your control.

What we collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to run the service, track usage limits, and provide support. Specifically:

• Account information: Your email address and Google account ID, provided via Google Sign-In, so we can identify you across sessions and enforce tier limits.
• Subscription status: Your current plan (Free, Pro, or Team) and billing status, managed through Stripe.
• Usage metadata: The number of extractions you've run in the current billing period and timestamps of those extractions. This is used solely to enforce your plan's limits and show you your remaining usage.
• Error logs: Anonymized technical logs when something goes wrong, so we can debug and improve the product. These logs do not contain your document content.

What we do NOT collect

We take a deliberately minimal approach to data collection. We do not collect, store, or have access to:

• The content of any document, screenshot, or image you process with Clip2Sheet
• The contents of the Google Sheets we create on your behalf
• Your Google Drive files beyond the specific Sheets Clip2Sheet creates for you
• Your browsing history, tabs, or activity outside of explicit Clip2Sheet extractions
• Keystrokes, form data, or any content from websites you visit
• Payment card details (handled entirely by Stripe — we never see your card information)

How your document content is handled

When you run an extraction, your document content is processed in real time and delivered directly into a new Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. The extraction exists only for the moment it takes to process — nothing is retained on our side, and we cannot retrieve, review, or recover any document you've processed. Once the Sheet is in your Drive, it is entirely yours, under your Google account, subject only to Google's own terms.

In practical terms: we do not keep copies, we do not build databases of your documents, and we do not train models on your content. If you delete the Sheet from your Drive, it is gone — we have no backup to restore it from because we never had one.

Third-party services we use

Clip2Sheet relies on a small set of trusted third-party services to operate. These include:

• Google services: We use Google's cloud infrastructure to power authentication, document processing, and delivery of your extracted Sheets into your own Google Drive. Google's data handling is governed by the Google Cloud Privacy Notice.
• Stripe: For subscription billing and payment processing. Stripe handles all payment card data according to Stripe's Privacy Policy. We never see or store your card details.
• Cloudflare: For website hosting and protection against abuse.

These providers only receive the minimum data required to perform their specific function. None of them receive, and none of them store, the content of the documents you extract.

Permissions we request

When you install Clip2Sheet, Chrome will ask you to grant certain permissions. Here is why each one is needed:

• Active tab / screen capture: So you can select a region of the current tab to extract.
• Google account access (via OAuth): So we can create Google Sheets in your Drive on your behalf.
• Storage: To remember your extraction history and preferences locally.

Clip2Sheet only activates when you explicitly start an extraction. It does not monitor your browsing, read page content automatically, or run in the background.

Data retention

Account information and usage metadata are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, this information is removed within 30 days. Document content is never retained in the first place, so there is nothing to delete.

Data sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. The only third parties who receive data are the service providers listed above, and only to the extent necessary to operate Clip2Sheet (for example, Stripe receives your email to process your subscription).

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the account information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your usage history
• Withdraw consent and stop using Clip2Sheet at any time

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect account information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission, secure authentication via Google OAuth, and access controls on our Firebase database. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

Clip2Sheet is intended for professional use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@clip2sheet.com and we will delete it.

International users

Clip2Sheet is operated from Canada. Your data is processed in data centers located in Canada and the United States. By using Clip2Sheet, you consent to the transfer of your account information to these locations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated via email or through the extension interface.
